US election: Women share how abortion shaped their vote

Angela is studying in Iowa. A Democrat, she supported Biden in the last presidential election and plans to vote for Harris.

I would love for it to be a moment of celebration when we elect a woman of color to our highest office, but unfortunately, with how hard the election is going against Trump and how disappointing the (Harris) campaign has been on some of the issues that matter to It was difficult for me to be as festive as I would like.

Obviously, abortion is a huge issue that needs to be addressed, but I’m not necessarily happy with either candidate’s approach to the issue.

I understand that Harris has a policy where she wants to codify Roe v. Wade, but I think women’s rights and issues go beyond simple access to abortion. Trump is very shaky on the issue of women’s rights, so it’s hard to pin him down on any position.
