Residents of Los Angeles are returning to their homes to assess the damage and destruction left at the same time by the fires in the region.
Firefighters have been unable to contain some of the fires as the relentless winds continue.
The Pacific Palisades fire, now known as the city’s most destructive, destroyed more than 1,000 buildings.
