Tanner Charles and his friend were at home trying to make their home as fireproof as possible when the Palisades flames began to approach. They filmed the moment they were forced to leave, running down a street lined with burning houses.
The Palisades fire, one of several burning in Los Angeles, erupted Tuesday night as strong winds lashed northwest Los Angeles. It already has at least 1,000 buildings and has forced the evacuation of more than 30,000 residents.
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden approved a major disaster declaration for California, which will allow residents to get immediate access to funds and resources to help them rebuild.
