Combative Trump takes aim at DEI policies after air tragedy

Trump said the indication of hiring the diversity and inclusion of FAA included the advantage of those suffering from disabled people associated with “hearing, vision, lack of limbs, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, serious intellectual disabilities, psychiatric disabilities and dwarf.”

The archival version of the web -resort web for hiring and FAA inclusion, which seems to be lifted in December, included a similar list. The agency searched for people with “purposeful disabilities” that the federal government at the time hired.

But it is unclear how this desire to make a set more diverse, possibly affected the ranks of air traffic controllers, which, according to President Trump, is necessary for all “naturally talented geniuses”. FAA has more than 35,000 employees, only the share of which plays this role.

In response to criticism about the practice of hiring diversity last year, the agency issued a statement saying that all new hires should match “strict qualifications” that is “changing in position”.

The agency faced criticism of a long shortage of air traffic controllers, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic has caused large interruptions in commercial air travel.

The reports suggest that the level of staffing at Reagan Airport on Wednesday night may have been broken.

In his speech, Trump specifically accused Baden Pita Batigieg’s transport minister, whom he described with foul language and said that he had introduced the “into the ground”.

Buttigieg defended his entry on social media, calling Trump’s comments “contemptible”. “As the families mourn, Trump should lead, not lie,” he said.

Democratic Senate leader Chuck Shumer also criticized Trump’s comments.

“One thing for the Internet wickets throws out conspiracies. This is another one to throw out single speculation as the US president is still restored,” Sumer said.

After he retired from the prepared comments, however, it seemed that President Trump was most interested in the proposal.

Along with his condemnation of Dei policy, he offered a long discussion of the corners and heights at which two planes flew, weather conditions on Wednesday night, the temperature of the flow and the behavior of the army helicopter.

“We had a situation where we had a helicopter that had the opportunity to stop,” he said. “For some reason it just went on.”

Two things were very clear from Trump’s comments on Thursday.

The first is that his desire to introduce himself into the main news in his new term. And the second, which, in his opinion, never too quickly introduces politics into the national tragedy – and use it to attack opponents and promote the agenda.
