A firefighter dressed as Santa Claus descended a bridge in Guatemala City to hand out gifts to children.
Municipal firefighter Hector Chacon donned red robes and a beard and, with the help of his colleagues, descended 70 meters to meet dozens of children waiting for him below.
Mr. Chacon, 78, has been doing it for 27 years and says the goal is to spread the holiday spirit to children from low-income families.
“I think all kids deserve to have a toy this time of year,” he said.
