Trump says the U.S. is going to do ‘something great with crypto’

President-elect Donald Trump said the US will become the global leader in cryptocurrency during his next term.

“We’re going to do something big with crypto because we don’t want China, or anybody else … but others are supporting it, and we want to move forward,” Trump told CNBC. Jim Cramer in the year New York Stock Exchange on Thursdayin response to a question about a potential strategic bitcoin reserve.

Trump’s embrace of the crypto industry is a welcome departure for digital currency investors from the current administration’s stance on crypto companies. A national strategic reserve, or bitcoin repository, is among Trump’s campaign promises to the growing industry that helped re-elect him.
