The first president of the independent Namibian Sam Noujam died at the age of 95 in the capital of Windhuk, the current leader of the country has announced.
Noujama led a long -term struggle for independence from South Africa in 1990. After help, in the 1960s on the liberation of Namibia, known as the Organization of the South Western Peoples (Swapo).
After independence, Noujam became president in 1990 and headed the country until 2005.
During the last three weeks, Noujam has been hospitalized with a disease he “could not recover,” said Nanibia’s President Nangala Mbumba in a statement, which announced the death of “as sadness and sadness”.
