The retaliatory attacks from Russia took place on the coldest day of the Ukrainian winter so far, with temperatures around -6C.
Along with losses in Ivano-Frankivsk region, energy and infrastructure facilities in Lviv and Ternopil regions were affected.
According to Governor Ruslan Kravchenko, critical and residential infrastructure facilities were not affected in the Kyiv region.
Five of the country’s nine nuclear power units were operating at reduced capacity.
As a result of the attack, the national energy company Ukrenerga was forced to tighten restrictions on the supply of electricity on Friday, introducing gradual blackouts in all regions.
Ukrenergo added that during the day on Friday, electricity will be imported from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova.
