NASA is preparing important budget cuts that can be constantly and canceled the next missions, leaving the “violent” in the future, experts warned.

The space agency has already begun several regulations, within the extensive restructuring of the US government efficiency department (DOGE), an independent task group aimed at Elon Musk. This week earlier, he announced that he closed the office, politics and strategy office; The head of the main scientist; and diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility office at the Washington DC diversity office and equal opportunities, replacing 23 jobs in the agency.

“This magnitude is never easy, but our strength comes from our role and shared commitment to mutual commitment,” Janet Petro, the administrator of the NASA, wrote an email to the staff. “I encourage you to help each other as we move forward.”

A worker, politics and strategy, established this week, says that he was anonymity of the reprisal, says that he was “simple goal” because the office was established under the administration of Joe Biden. “Some thought that was coming to me,” they say.

The roles of the Nasa General Technologist and the main economist of NASA were part of this office, “he helped the Strategic Agency Planning,” says staff. Managing the latest fluctuations in Lunar missions and “these missions are not interfered with each other”, planning landing sites and operations based on the moon.

“There is a lot of interest in the South Pole on the Moon and there is a concern to act next to each other, such as throwing the dust to put the solar panels on other vehicles. “I don’t think these problems will move forward.”

These losses are expected to be the beginning of a much larger NASA KULL. Casey Dreier In the U.S. Exploration team, Planetary Society says, the President of Donald Trump directs the general NASA science budget to be 50 percent. That’s what would be a hit in the NASA science mission management office, “NASA has almost a crew mission,” says Dreierre; Today, a budget of $ 7 million has a $ 25 trillion annual budget.

A scientist who knows the decisions of the policy of NASA, speaking anonymously for fear of reprisal, says the President must accept the Congress, which does not support so easily. “NASA is very loved at the base of the bipartitan,” they say. But if the cuts are forwarded, they would add “basically the end of NASA science”. “There will be no missions.”

Budget reduction “would be a profound conclusion that the nation turns his back on the cosmos,” Dreier says, and it would lead to many missions of missions. Like some missions such as James Webb Space telescope, they would probably survive, endangered planning phases or later missions in their lives. This can have climatic satellites, hubble space telescope, sustainability and curiosity in MARTEN and Voyager missions, as it was the first spacecraft that will ever leave our solar system.

NASA effects could be permanent: “If you completely destroy people’s pipe, you have a significant and lasting conclusion,” Dreier says. “It’s a level of extinction.”

In a letter for Petro, the Lofgren of California, in the home science, space and technology committee, NASA asked to fight against cuts. “DOGE will search for the function of the NUASA nucleus and smoking,” he wrote. “It is essential to stand up for the critical work of NASA”.

By talking New scientistLofgren warned that situations could be international ramifications. “Disassembly of high-skilled NASA staff would be a giant jump for the United States and allow a giant jump to China,” he said. “Non-meaningless and irresponsible restriction will have the ability of the agency in cutting-edge innovation, guided curiosity in sciences and human exploration.”
