Jay Leno he’s determined to do whatever it takes to help Los Angeles firefighters battling the region’s ongoing wildfires … likening their efforts to a “military operation.”
The popular comedian joined us on TMZ Live on Tuesday, where he revealed his mission to help feed the dedicated first responders who put their lives on the line to fight the persistent infernos that plague the City of Angels.
While Jay joked that firefighters can really eat, he made it clear that he’s happy to be in the service … especially after witnessing the conditions they face.
As JL said … the relief effort is a “well-organized, military complex” set up and similar to Afghanistan’s Bagram Airfield, a US military base before troop withdrawals in 2021.
He added … “LA Fire, I’m not just saying this, they’re really the best fire department in the world. Because there’s almost no other place that has to deal with emergencies like this, where, all of a sudden, 100 mph winds – right now.”
Jay compared the strong winds mixing with the fire to an incinerator… emphasizing how terrifying it was for these brave men and women.
He concluded … “Having heaven and hell in the same place is the strangest thing I’ve ever seen.”
It can be said again!!!
