Step by step instructions for first line and hanging discounts, with tips for using the ruler – friendly and easy to follow.

Faster
- Put the cursor at the beginning of the line.
- Press Tab Once to a discount of about 0.5 ″.
- Press Backspace At the beginning to remove the indentation.
Button
- Go to Beginning > IndentationS
- Use Reduce retreat to move it back.
Set first line or hanging indentation
- Select your paragraph (s).
- Open Paragraph Dialog (Home> Small Starter).
- Under Indentation> specialselect First line or Pending and set the amount (eg 0.5 ″).
- Click WellS
Precise control with the ruler: Go to Review> rulerS Drag the upper triangle (first line), the lower triangle (left indentation) or square (whole paragraph).
