Tshisekedi paid tribute to the Sadc soldiers who “fought near us” and the UN forces that died after the insurgent attack.

Thirteen South African peacekeepers were killed in a deadly conflict in Homo, leading to increased tensions between South Africa and Rwanda.

On Wednesday night Kaham said that Rwanda was ready to confront South Africa, after the claim of the South Africa President Cyril Ramaphos that M23 fighters and Rwanda’s forces were responsible for death.

The strongly formulated statement, which directly responded to Ramaphos on X, Kagam accused him of distorting his private conversations about the changing situation.

“If South Africa wants to contribute to peaceful solutions, it is good and good, but South Africa does not have the ability to take on the role of a peacemaker or mediator. And if South Africa prefers confrontation, Rwanda will deal with this issue in this matter Any day, ”he said.

The exchange notes significant escalation of tensions between the two countries whose relations have been fragile for several years.

On Wednesday, Angola called for the Congolese and Rwan leaders to meet in Luanda.

The country that mediated by the unsuccessful negotiation attempt in December before M23 launched its last offensive, also called for the restoration of discussions led by East Africa concerning the unrest in the East Doctor of Congo.

This happened when Tshisekedi visited Luanda for discussion on the next steps on the negotiations under the guidance of Angola.

Both in the management of EAC and Luanda peaceful efforts in the past have not been able to resolve the crisis.
