Israeli TV channels showed that police had cordoned off the area as emergency workers treated the victims and a helicopter hovered overhead.
“At 10:08 a.m., the 101 MDA emergency service in the Yarkon region received a report about a truck hitting a bus stop on Aaron Yariv Boulevard in Ramat Hasharon.
“MDA ambulances and paramedics are currently treating dozens of victims,” Israel’s emergency services said in a statement.
A spokesman for the Israeli Ambulance Service, quoted by Israel’s Haaretz newspaper, said many of the victims were elderly citizens who got off the bus before visiting the nearby Israel Defense Forces (IDF) base in Gillot.
