A car plowed into a crowd at a Christmas market in eastern Germany, local media reported.
At least one person died and several others were injured as a result of the incident in Magdeburg, according to the German public broadcaster MDR.
The suspected driver of the car was also arrested, MDR reported, citing a government spokesman.
Video on social media shows several people lying on the ground and emergency services attending.
Local authorities said a “wide-ranging police operation” was underway and the market was closed.
