Brad Pitt and: Angelina Jolie have finally closed the book on their divorce after more than 8 years of waiting to get anything out of the way … TMZ has learned.
In new court documents obtained by TMZ, Angelina signed off on their long-term divorce on Christmas Day and filed the papers Monday, with Angie refusing spousal and family support from Brad. however, only 2 of the children, twins Knox and Vivienne, are minors.
The former ‘A’ couple, known to the media as ‘Brangelina’, settled their contentious divorce after hinting that an end was near at the beginning of the year … when their respective legal teams exchanged final financial disclosures; something that usually happens shortly before the divorcing parties reach a final settlement.
And it’s about time, as Angie filed for divorce back in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences at the time.
They were only married for 2 years before they broke up, they were housemates for almost 10 years before they got married… so yeah, they were together for a long time.
Brad and Angelina first met in 2004 while working on the big screen remake of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. However, since Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, the couple didn’t get together as an official couple until 2005.
Brad quickly moved in with Angie amid rumors of his split, eventually welcoming six children into their family, including Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
Shortly after Angie filed for divorce, she accused Brad of physical abuse against at least one of her children, though he always denied the allegations and was later cleared by authorities, something Angie has continued to litigate for years.
Until 2019, the exes were declared legally single by a judge … as their divorce case dragged on.
BA sued AJ after he sold his share of their winery to a Russian oligarch’s company without his permission, while Brad faced a recent legal victory in this case; the situation is far from over… lately, they’ve been going back and forth over NDA demands.
With the divorce now over and done with, you have to imagine the winemaking case could probably follow suit… at least one would hope.. To be continued…
