With his speech in Doj, Trump has officially announced his intention to redo the legal system in accordance with his whims and will.

Last week Donald Trump went to the Ministry of Justice And, once again threatened his political enemies illegal persecution. Addressing himself as a “law enforcement officer in our country”, he urged the agency to prosecute everyone from former special lawyer Jack Smith in MSNBC and CNN to (apparently) who writes or says that he or his or his Khnin’s Judge. Even Eisen’s Lawyer, Co -founder Contraindicated (amazing mass) was highlighted as a potential goal.
In many ways, this was a standard operating procedure for Trump, which, we would not forget, called for the blocking his first political opponent, Senator Hillary Clinton. The call for legal revenge against his political enemies was the main topic of all Trump’s speeches, as he descended from his gilded escalator.
Trump formulated his plans to follow his political opponents with legal actions once and again, but what is important in this version of his hours of his hours, a sort of speech, speaking when he gave it: in the “Big Hall” in the Justice Department as an actual Prosecutor, Bondi, Bondi. Only two other presidents They spoke in the hall in this century: Bill Clinton, when he tried to support the support of his catastrophic and racist bill in 1994, and George W. Bush, when he devoted the building of Robert F. Kennedy (the one that has no worms without a brain). The presidents historically support the respectable distance among themselves and the general lawyers (unless they are brothers) to avoid the opinion that Doj’s actions are politically motivated.
Trump escaped from this tradition to put a clear agenda to turn Doj into his individual legal strike. With the speech, he officially announced his intention to redo the legal system in accordance with his will and whims.
Trump’s hysteria in Doj is part of a bigger work: follow the lawyers who can confront him. In Doj, he nominated Smith and Eisen with his enemies, but Trump also issued two executive statements that decipher the “risk” from specific law firms: Perkins Koi and Paul Weiss. He recalled security for lawyers who work for both firms and tries to prevent the government from contracting any of their lawyers. None of these firms did nothing but submitting customers with legal claims to Trump, or his Magazon, but in the world of Trump, which apparently violates his new legal world order. Trump wants to drown the lawyers and he wants to use lawyers in the Ministry of Justice to do so.
It can be imagined that the bad actors who now go to the Ministry of Justice will be happy to perform. Trump came out of his way to fill Doj with low -level people who would obey his will, not the law.
As is the case as often with Trump, his speech in Doj left us in a dangerous limb between what he says he can do what he really can do and what he legs Make it but still do. Trump (or his socks doll Bondi) cannot order to persecute his political enemies who did not commit crimes – at least, he cannot, under the traditional understanding of the law and justice. But if he does it, who will stop it? Federal government’s military police are now under the control of Trump, Bondi and Patel. If they send their jack -boots to assemble the Eisen’s norm (or me or you) who will tell them “no”? Courts? Ask Mahmoud Khalila how much time it takes to release from federal detention, even if your arrest is illegal and you have not committed crimes. Ask any of the 137 Venezuelans who have been shaved and deported A direct violation of the court rulingCan federal courts “stop” Trump.
Monday Trump doubled in his Doj speech Announcement What the Trump’s Preventive Space Pardons for the Trump’s “invalid, vacant and no further strength and consequences” (all circles in the original German). It is clear that this step is designed to bring Trump to justice these people, which is, in fact, what he ordered Doj to do last week. I could tell you that no president could withdraw the sides of the previous president if it makes you feel better. But I can also tell you that the president’s pardon authorities are not heavily checking in the courts – and the preventive sides are definitely unverified – and Trump controls the Supreme Court. Again, saying that Trump “can’t” do something, does not really prevent Trump to do it.
As in each fascist mode throughout the history, the meaning of Trump’s personal hijacking in law enforcement has fear. Trump tries to stop his junta, threatening the persecution of anyone, especially the lawyers who oppose him. It does not really have to chase all or even most people. Only the threat will cool a lot of people, and he only needs to remove one or two loud persecution to prove that he is not bluff. For example, he and Bondi are not going to pay everyone who sets out the Tesla dealership with internal terrorism, but if he makes Doj do it only one person, then everyone will think before cursing a cybert print in a resume parking lot (which is not a crime and no video that I would do.
Trump’s exits in Doj and his greater agenda for “offense” against his political opponents should warn these opponents about one important reality about life under the fascist regime: the law is not on our side. Too many liberals gathered themselves in a false sense of security, which is “law”, however, is on the side of justice. This is not. This is never when dictators are controlled. In authoritarian regimes, the law always ends with the oppressor, not depressed. You cannot fight fascists through the legal system because fascists always change the law to fight them.
This is exactly how Trump announced to Doj last week. Now the institutions work on bad guys. Adjust your expectations and your resistance strategies respectively.
The hard and chaotic second term Donald Trump is just beginning. In the first month, Trump’s office and his Like -Elon Musk (or this is the opposite?) Proved that nothing is safe from sacrifice at the altar without checking strength and wealth.
