Khan, who has been in jail for more than a year on what he says are politically motivated charges, urged his supporters not to give up – encouraging people to continue in D’s direction. Dude.

“My message to my team is to fight to the end, we will not back down,” the former prime minister told X.

Even while behind bars, the former cricket star has proved that he is a power player in Pakistani politics. In the February elections, his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which was barred from standing and forced to run as independent candidates, emerged as the largest bloc.

However, they did not win a majority and their rivals united to form a new government.

As a result, the protesters are also calling for the annulment of the election results, which they believe were rigged – a demand disputed by the government.

It was Khan who called on his supporters to take to the streets over the weekend, making a “last call” and asking them to stay in the capital until their demands were met.
