Birmingham maintained their five-point lead over Wrexham in the League One promotion race after a 1-1 draw.
Wrexham took the lead at the racetrack on Thursday night as Ollie Rathbone fired them in front, Birmingham pegged them back soon after with a goal from Lyndon Dykes.
The result means Birmingham extend their lead over second-placed Wycombe to three points level with Wrexham.
Birmingham, with 57 points, have also played a game less than Wycombe (56 points) and Wrexham (52 points).
The spoils shared in the racecourse
Wrexham hit the opener after just nine minutes, Ollie Palmer picking on the ball deep in the Birmingham area and Rathbone picked it up before curling a superb effort from outside the box into the bottom corner.
Birmingham equalized 18 minutes later, a corner was taken deep and Dykes headed it home before it hit George Dobson on the way in.
Wrexham have been a force at home this season and showed that strength as they pushed for a winner in the second half.
Birmingham have keeper Ryan Allsop to thank for the point, especially a superb save to keep James McClean’s header at the near post on 64 minutes.
The leaders
Phil Parkinson of Wrexham.
“I thought we really started and got a fantastic goal from Ollie. We were always disappointed to concede and we could have done better with their goal. It probably hit us a bit.
“I thought for a while we responded really well in the second half, and we’ve had a lot of games like that where we’ve put teams together and scored, but we didn’t quite get it tonight.
“But what we ask from the guys – desire, commitment and energy – we got it all.”
Chris Davies of Birmingham.
“Mixed emotions. I thought we were very good in the first half even though we conceded a goal and we responded to it.
“We were very calm, controlled the game again and scored well from the back. I liked the way we looked in that half. I thought we were very threatening and gave them very little.
“We had some moments in the second half but we didn’t have the same control that we would have liked to have. And in the end we got over it and fought hard to get the point and we will take it.”
