Whitney Cummings he says dismissively Sabrina Carpenter “The Conners” was the best thing that could happen to a pop star.
We caught up with Whitney on Thursday at LAX, and our photo asked the former “Conners” host about the time Sabrina tried out on the show.
Whitney says Sabrina once auditioned Harris Conner-Hill for the role, but they ultimately passed because they were looking for someone with a darker energy.
As Whitney recalls, Sabrina lit up the room with her presence…and while that’s usually a good thing for people…it just wasn’t right for the role.
The thing is…Whitney says that Sabrina’s career actually benefited from not being on the TV show…telling us that Sabrina had to take her focus off her music career, which has since exploded.
Whitney even jokes that she deserves a cut of Sabrina’s tour profits … or at least front row seats to the show … telling us that denials are often the best thing for a Hollywood career.
We also asked Whitney about Sabrina’s recent split from the actor Barry Keoghan … and he has some simple advice.
