Footage released by Russia’s Southern Transport Prosecutor’s Office shows a Russian oil tanker breaking in half and sinking during a severe storm, streaks of oil visible in the water.
The ship is one of two Russian vessels with 29 crew members on board that were seriously damaged in the Black Sea by Russian authorities.
At least one crew member is reported to have died. The second ship is said to have drifted after being damaged.
The incident took place in the Kerch Strait, which separates Russia from Crimea, a Ukrainian peninsula illegally annexed by Moscow in 2014.
