The fire burning in Pacific Palisades, an affluent Los Angeles neighborhood near Malibu and Santa Monica, is growing at an alarming rate.
Its trajectory was fueled by strong winds — dry winds from the mountains to the north and east and down to the coast of Los Angeles called the Santa Ana wind.
