A few hours after Trump took over on January 20, he signed the executive order, stopping all foreign assistance until such funds were checked and aligned with his “America’s first” policy.

This has led to the termination of the work order in USAID, which in turn has overcome the global assistance system As hundreds of programs were frozen in the world.

On Friday, Trump posted on his social platform “Truth”: “Usaid manages the radical crazy.

“Corruption at the level is rare earlier. Close it!”

The United States is definitely the largest humanitarian aid provider worldwide. He has bases in more than 60 countries and works in dozens of others, and most of his work was carried out by contractors.

According to state data, the US spent $ 68 billion (£ 55 billion) on international assistance in 2023.

The total amount is widespread in several departments and agencies, but the USAID budget is more than half of it at about $ 40 billion – about 0.6% of the total state expenses in the US in the amount of 6.75.

Former USAID chiefs criticized the registered reduction plan. One of them, Gayl Smith, emphasized the BBC that the US was always the fastest to come during the humanitarian crises around the world.

“If you pull it all out, you send some very dangerous messages,” Smith said. “The United States signal that we do not carefully care, live or die, and that we are not a reliable partner.”
