Donald Trump’s second term was marked by attacks on the Constitution so extreme that even Trump’s judges, appointed in his first term, are Aghast. These incendiary attacks on the judiciary do not just reflect the anger in Judge Imegut, or many other federal judges who go to Trump’s policy on immigration and other issues. They also create the basis for a series of overhanging battles faced by Trump in the Supreme Court.
While the lower-level federal judges were the main check on Trump’s policy, the Supreme Supreme Court is another game game. He gave Trump an extraordinary (albeit temporary) power in a series of emergency decisions that almost always preferred the president.
