Donald Trump is set to return to the White House, promising to take action on immigration, the economy and the war in Ukraine.
His policy agenda looks set to gain major support in Congress after his GOP regained control of the Senate.
In his victory speech, Trump promised: “I will govern with a simple motto: Promises made, promises kept. We will keep our promises.”
But in some cases, he gave few details of how he might achieve his goals.
In 2023, when asked by Fox News whether he would abuse his power or attack political opponents, he said he would not, “except on day one.”
“No, no, no, except for the first day. We close the border and drill, drill, drill. After that, I am not a dictator.”
