There is a moderate risk of severe weather from east Texas through Louisiana and Mississippi and into Alabama on Saturday.
The risk of severe weather starts in Texas Saturday morning and then moves eastward during the evening and overnight.
The greatest risk will be for several strong and large tornadoes, potentially EF3 or larger, according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Other risk factors include large hail, damaging winds and flooding.
As for the rain, 2 inches to 4 inches of rain is expected Saturday in the South from Texas to Alabama and Tennessee, with localized areas of 5 inches or more, leading to dangerous flooding.
The same set of storms will reach the southeast on Sunday, where it will also pose a serious threat, although it is expected to be much more extreme than Saturday’s.

Strong and severe storms will move through Georgia in the morning hours, as well as the Carolinas, where major areas such as Charlotte and Atlanta could experience early delays due to the storm.
The main threats on Sunday will be damaging winds and possible tornadoes, but again, the threat is less than on Saturday.
Virginia may also see severe storms in the morning and early afternoon.
This rain will reach Philadelphia into New York City early Monday morning, but will likely dissipate late Monday night. Boston, however, will have a rainy Monday morning.
