A French court found Elsom guilty of misappropriating corporate assets and forging documents during his tenure as club president, local media reported.
Ouest-France newspaper quoted Patrick Thabet, a lawyer involved in the case, as saying Elsom made a “completely unjustified” payment of €79,000 (£66,000) to the former coach and paid a €7,200 monthly salary to the Australian. a resident who “never came to Narbonne”.

The judge imposed a harsher prison term than the two years requested by prosecutors. Mr Tabet said the former Wallabies star was also ordered to pay back around €705,000 (£586,000).
