The actor A slice of Goodwind says being involved LeBron James– The Rez Ball movie was an honor… praising the Lakers superstar for putting Native Americans in the spotlight through film.
Goodwin played Nathani Jackson in the September sports drama, which followed a Native American high school basketball team contending for a state title after losing its star.
Goodwin narrates TMZ Sports he felt a deep sense of pride in the project … especially because it highlights Indigenous athletes and draws attention to their experiences like never before.
“Just to be a part of the Rez Ball, which is like a story that resonates with all of Indian Country, it’s an honor, honestly,” Goodwind said.
Goodwind also made sure to point out how King James and his SpringHill company made everything extra special…explaining life on set was amazing.
“I haven’t met LeBron yet, but honestly, his guys put on such a good show,” Goodwind said. “Shout (Producer) Spencer Baileyhe is my son.’
“I’m just grateful to SpringHill Productions to be a part of a project like this because it means so much to Native people.”
“I couldn’t say ‘thank you’ to all his people.”
Although Goodwind said he hasn’t crossed paths with the king yet, he knows what will happen when they meet.
“I want a three-point shot.”
