LONDON — Pope Francis fell and injured his arm in his residence on Thursday, the Vatican said.
“This morning, as a result of a fall in the Santa Marta house, Pope Francis suffered a bruise on his right forearm, without a fracture,” the Vatican said in a statement. “The arm was immobilized as a precautionary measure.”

The pontiff, 88, was seen in a photo released by the Vatican with what appeared to be a limp arm.
