Robert Brooks died allegedly at the hands of New York State Correctional Officers, and what’s even more shocking is that some of the officers are making a whopping six-figure salary … TMZ has learned.
Brooks, an inmate at Mars Correctional Facility in N.Y., died of asphyxiation due to compression of the neck during a Dec. 10 attack by a guard and other prison staff, according to a preliminary autopsy report.

Staff-worn body camera footage showed the brutal attack on Brooks inside the penitentiary, during which the inmate was restrained and gagged. Before his death, Brooks was serving a 12-year sentence after being convicted of the crime. :
According to state workers’ compensation records obtained by TMZ… Eight out of fourteen Department of Corrections workers take home six-figure salaries, while the rest drop from $70,000 to $89,000.
Annual earnings figures through 2022 or 2023 reveal Sgt Glenn Trombley amounted to 149 185 dollars; An officer David Kingsley II took $147,745; An officer Matthew Galliher took in $114,375; sergeant Michael Marshaw raised $105,672; An officer Christopher Walrath received $113,969; An officer Nicholas Kiefer earned $118,151; An officer Anthony Farina paid $142,528; and a nurse Kyle Dashnau USD 110,087 was compensated.
The other six corrections officers are paid less than $100,000, but still make a pretty good living. Nicholas Ansalone ($87028), Robert Kessler ($89,248), Michael Fisher ($85,143), Michael Along ($88,333), Shay Shoff ($87,276) and David Walters ($70,423).
A spokesperson for the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision tells TMZ … 13 employees have been suspended without pay and Farina has resigned.
While Governor of New York Kathy Hochul ordered the correctional commission. Daniel F. Martuschellobegin the process of firing the still active prison employees.
