SEOUL — South Korea’s military detected what it suspected to be a medium-range ballistic missile fired from North Korea, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The missile was fired from the area surrounding the capital Pyongyang into the East Sea at noon on Monday, the joint chiefs said.
The joint chiefs said South Korea’s military has increased its vigilance for additional launches and maintains a willingness to share ballistic missile-related data with the US and Japan.
The last time North Korea test-fired a ballistic missile was on November 5, just before the US presidential election.
