Rollins’ nomination marks the end of Trump’s picks for his cabinet, a group of 15 advisers who each head a bureaucratic department in the US government.
Each nominee must be confirmed by the Senate.
Trump has chosen an eclectic array of Cabinet picks, from Mag loyalists to former political rivals.
Some of his nominations — such as Robert Kennedy Jr. for the Department of Health and Human Services and Matt Gaetz for attorney general — have been surprising.
Kennedy, a former environmental lawyer and vaccine skeptic who opposed Trump as an independent candidate before dropping out and endorsing him, will lead the Food and Drug Administration.
Gaetz, the flamboyant former congressman from Florida who led the ouster of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, withdrew his candidacy and resigned amid allegations of sexual harassment of minors, solicitation of sex and drug use.
The media reported that the senators made it clear that it would be difficult to confirm Goetz for the position. Goetz pleaded not guilty, but said he withdrew from the trial because he became a “distraction.”
Trump wasted no time in quickly appointing Pam Bondi, the former Florida attorney general, to the position.
Another elected official, Pete Hegseth, was also embroiled in a scandal after a police report revealed new details about an alleged sexual assault the former Fox-news anchor had with a woman in 2017.
Hegseth denies any wrongdoing and claims the meeting was consensual. He was never arrested or charged.
Education Secretary nominee Linda McMahon – the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment – has also been criticized for her lack of experience in education.
