Nicki Minaj could face criminal charges over the alleged incident in his former manager’s latest lawsuit … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Detroit police have sent a written request to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, which is being reviewed to determine if criminal charges will be filed.
Whether charges will be filed is up to the prosecutor.

According to the lawsuit, Garrett claims she was invited to his dressing room after the show … and she says she was furious when she found out he once sent someone else to pick up one of her prescriptions.
Garrett claims Nicky repeatedly told him his “life was over” before slapping him in the face with an open palm.He says Nicky then slapped him on the wrist, knocking the documents out of his hand.

He’s suing Nicky for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress…and he’s suing her for damages.
