Chelsea Women have agreed a world record fee with the San Diego Wave for defender Naomi Girma.
The two clubs agreed a deal worth around £890,000 ($1.1 million), beating the current record of £695,000 ($860,000) when Rachael Kundananji moved to Bay FC from CFF Madrid.
The centre-back is expected to undergo a medical in London later this week.
Girma reported for San Diego’s first day of preseason practice on Tuesday, but it looks like it could be his last with the club.
