Police died, 37-year-old and her two-year-old daughter, two days after the car was driven into the crowd by people in the German city of Munich, police said.
At least 37 people were injured as a result of the attack, a number of them seriously.
The driver was a 24-year-old Afghan refuge, police said in local media as Farhad H, arrested at the scene.
The prosecutors said the suspect had religious motivation.
“Unfortunately, we must confirm the death of a two-year-old child and her 37-year-old mother today,” said police spokesman Ludwig Waldinger on Saturday.
Speaking to a press conference on Friday, Munich Prosecutor Gabriel said the suspect said that “Allah Akbar” (the greatest God), when he was detained, what she expressed at his discretion means that he “may have Islamist Motivation. “
On Thursday, the car at the heart of Munich took place 10 days before the Germans will take place in the federal election, marred by a number of previous attacks conducted by immigrants.
Two allegedly attackers came from Afghanistan.
