Luigi Mangione he’s locked up in New York’s notorious federal penitentiary, known for its appalling conditions, and has been told by TMZ of his life behind bars.
Sources with direct knowledge tell us … Mangione is stuck in “administrative segregation” at MDC Brooklyn, with a group of inmates separated from the general population because they require increased security.
In Mangione’s case, he became infamous after being arrested for the high-profile murder of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. Brian Thompson – so he could be a target for other inmates, hence the extra security.
Our sources say that Mangione is locked in a cell. no one sits with him, but the cells are close together and the prisoners often talk to each other.
We’re told there are no TVs in the breakout section…so not much to do during the day.
Luigi really gets a chance to stretch his legs … enjoying an hour a day with a pen outside his cell; Our sources say it sometimes has a basketball or a stationary bike in it, depending on which cage is being used.
For his amusement, we’re told Luigi can buy an MP3 player and songs through commissary if someone deposits money into his account, ie.
Inmates are limited to $350 a month, although they are given an extra $100 on top of the limit for holidays.
As you know, Luigi is accused of fatally shooting Thompson in midtown Manhattan earlier this month when authorities pulled Mangione into the MDC in Brooklyn. he was extradited back to New York from Pennsylvania.
Luigi faces both state and federal murder charges … and is allowed to meet with his lawyers while locked up at MDC Brooklyn.
Diddyis closed the same prison …and conditions aren’t great there. But it seems that Luigi has a pretty simple routine as he awaits trial.
