Liam Payne

Liam Payne he was advised by his psychiatrist just weeks before his death … he needed a “higher level of care” than he could provide.

In a letter sent to an Argentine court, obtained by TMZ … the One Direction star’s psychiatrist told the British singer in September that he could no longer provide psychiatric care for her.

As the psychiatrist said… he decided to stop Liam’s treatment “after careful consideration and evaluation” but advised him to continue with a treatment plan that included taking the medication only as prescribed, avoiding heavy drinking while taking the medication, weekly therapy, and meeting with a primary care physician and further research.

He urged Liam to speak to a therapist regularly to “process (his) depression and trauma” … and emphasized that this was vital to managing these issues.

The therapist provided a list of doctors and rehab centers that he felt could best help Liam.

He added … “Thank you for your understanding and I wish you the best in your continued journey to mental health and well-being.”

Liam opened up about his battle with addiction after spending 100 days in rehab in July 2023. At the time, he announced in a YouTube video that he had been sober for 6 months.

The “Strip That Down” singer shared … “I definitely don’t need that stuff anymore. The party’s over.”

However, as we reported, next year Liam had a relapse, which became famous after the singer fell to his death from the third-floor balcony of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October.

According to TMZ, at the time of Liam’s death, five people were on cocaine, alcohol and an anti-depressant charged in connection with his death … including an employee of the CasaSur Palermo hotel, who is accused of supplying drugs to the late star.
