The wildfires in Los Angeles have displaced thousands, burned businesses, and destroyed entire neighborhoods… and they’re still not fully contained.
According to the latest update … the highest red flag level of high winds and fire conditions, labeled as “Extremely Hazardous Situation”, has been declared National Weather Service Wednesday.
The Palisades Fire, which has destroyed massive swathes of the popular coastal community, is currently at 18% containment after burning nearly 24,000 acres.
Schools, restaurants and homes, including those they own Spencer Pratt and: Heidi Monday, Leighton Meester and: Adam Brody, Jeff Bridges, Anna Farisand: Miles Telleramong others, were reduced to ashes within a week of the fire first breaking out.
The Eaton Fire, which has devastated neighborhoods in Altadena and Pasadena, has made more progress as the fire is now 45% contained.
The impact is still enormous, however… more than 14,000 acres have burned, causing destruction to places of worship, senior housing and other community buildings.
In total, more than 40,000 acres have burned across the region, at least 25 people have died, and more than 12,000 structures have been destroyed… and unfortunately, that number could still rise.
While the LAFD and others work around the clock to battle the stubborn inferno, the city remains on high alert … given that Santa Ana winds will pick up again Wednesday, bringing hurricane-force gusts.
The people of Los Angeles are rallying around the victims, but … A-list Angelenos attend a planned benefit concert called FireAid.
As we reported, the benefit show will end at the end of January at the Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum.
We’re told more than 50 artists and bands have applied … but there are currently only 24 spots available. Organizers are trying to add to the gig, though … so expect the biggest and brightest names to be in attendance when it goes down. :
Celebrities are also shelling out some serious dough to help bushfire victims they look like Barbara Corcoran, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Marshmallowand: Sofia Vergara all are donating to various GoFundMe fundraisers … helping the site already reach a whopping $100 million.
Paris Hilton was also giving back in the wake of losing his home, like so many others … showing up at donation centers in Los Angeles and doing his part.
It’s a totally hands down situation for Los Angeles right now!!!
