Kim Richards made an unusual call to the police over the weekend that prompted officers to respond and evaluate Kim … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum visited the Los Angeles, CA office Sunday afternoon at her sister’s home. Kyle Richards.
Police say Kim told police that someone had taken her cat but then returned it before she began arguing with Kyle about current issues.
This behavior raised the alarm for officers at the scene who called in a mental health team to come and assess the 60-year-old man.
After speaking with Richards, we’re told the mental health evaluation team decided Kim didn’t meet the criteria for involuntary detention because they didn’t believe she was causing harm to herself or others.
Paramedics were also dispatched to Richards’ residence, but left shortly after, and no one required medical transport. We’re told police took no further action on the cat’s complaint.
We broke the story … Kim was put a psychological hold back in September after Sour told us police were called to a Hilton hotel in the Los Angeles area.

Police showed up at Kyle’s home later that month … concerned neighbors were calling in hopes of removing Kim.Law enforcement sources say Kyle told them he didn’t want Kim home either.
At the time, sources told us that the Richards family had cut off all contact with Kim in hopes of sobering her up because they were worried about her survival. As far as we know, they are still not on speaking terms.
We’ve reached out to Kim about the recent police visit…no word back yet.
