Kai Trump, the 17-year-old grandson of President-elect Donald Trump, released a “Election Night Vlog” on his YouTube channel Monday evening, where he took viewers behind the scenes to his family’s experience waiting for the results on election night.
“I’m ready to party tonight, and hopefully catch a double,” Kai Trump said, tapping into Gen-Z slang.
It gave an inside look at the family’s viral photo taken at Mar-a-Lago on election night, with images of Trump talking about “dark MAGA” hats and insisting on getting his surrogate Elon Musk into the shot.

“Elon? You have to have a picture with your boy,” Trump said. “You have to get Elon with her boy. Beautiful, perfect boy.”
In the evening, the family sat in front of four television screens showing ABC News, Fox News, CNN and MSNBC, eagerly waiting for the results to filter through.
“He’s got 20 Electoral College votes right now, so I think he’s pretty strong,” Kai said, describing the current news results.
Kai was also filmed doing her hair and make-up, choosing outfits and taking selfies with family members, offering a lighter and lighter look at the night.
Additional shots included Kai driving to Mar-a-Lago and the Palm Beach County Convention Center, joking with a friend about Nutella and singing “Money, Money, Money” from the “Mamma Mia” soundtrack, which he said. It was his song every time he entered Mar-a-Lago. The crowd could also be seen mimicking Trump’s dance moves.

In addition to those lighter moments, Kai also opened up about the emotional side of the night, especially when it came to his nerves.
“For the last five days, I’ve been really nervous, like I’ve had butterflies in my stomach for so long,” she said, later expressing her anxiety by “stress eating” sweet treats. Later, in the video, he explains how he started to “crush” when Pennsylvania called him Trump’s support.
Towards the end of the vlog, Kai announced that they were going to greet Vice President-elect JD Vance, even though he wasn’t in the footage. Melania Trump was not even seen or mentioned in the video.
While Kai didn’t record Trump’s final victory or the celebratory events/reactions following the results, he later filmed one-by-ones expressing his admiration for his grandfather.
“I just finished playing 18 holes with him. It was the first time he’d played in probably 90 days or more,” he said, before summing up its sentimental value. The elections the night “It’s his last time running, so it was special for him to win,” he said.
The eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr., Kai recently stepped into the public eye after giving a speech at the Republican National Convention in July where she described Trump as a “normal grandfather” who is “very supportive and loving.”
Kai’s YouTube channel, which has 133,000 subscribers, consists of additional vlogs featuring his golf skills and behind-the-scenes of his life. He is also active TikTok With 934.7k followers.
