Ice-monitoring drones set for first tests in the Arctic

A group of scientists and engineers will go to Greenland next month to test the Arctic flying drones, hoping to be a pioneering low cost surveillance system that will transform the ice sheet.

Most of the data on the State of Greenland is now coming from satellite monitoring and crew flights. Drones can provide a cheaper and more detailed solution, researchers can say, unlock near real time tracking Fast melting feature.
