
Small website owners say they may be forced to shut down

The UK’s new Online Safety Act could see hundreds of community websites and forums shut down permanently, as site administrators say they fear the law imposes tougher obligations and could face potential multimillion-pound fines.
“We’re firmly in power, and there’s no way I can avoid it,” says Dee Kitchen, who runs the cycling forum. LFGSS for its 70,000 members. “The law is too broad.”
