How QR Codes and Demonstrations Can Expand the Circle of Opposition 

As they become powerful demonstrations against Trump, we can do more to attract new participants. NO Kings marches and rallies showed strength and spirit, deceiving the courage of the participants, gave us a voice through our numbers and the breadth of our presence. Trump’s Iranian strikes should be even more water. But whatever the aspects of the regime action, which we highlight, we also need to consider demonstrations as opportunities to associate new people to growing motion that disputes Trump’s regime.

What if future demonstrations, large and small, included QR -codes on signs so that new participants could connect to growing motion? And when large organizations have created joint sites for T-shirts, bumper stickers and QR codes that similarly linked people?

Many people who visited the demonstrations have already been associated with different organizational groups. But most were not. They came through the previous media lighting, which may not happen the next time, as there will be no parallel Trump parade. They came because they saw signs on the streets. Friends told them at the last minute. We will never know the exact mix, but it is very important to attract people who join the movements of their largest participants. We do this best by connecting them with organizations that can offer permanent resources to talk and act, and help new participants attract others.

With enough volunteers, sponsored groups can do so directly approaching visitors to sign up for people to get alerts from organizational internet and social sites, register them for voting or get them in the following cloths and phones. But it’s hard if you have a large -scale crowd. So what for the next The main national eventBut for great local actions, the organizers could put QR -codes on banners and signs that will contact the site where people could sign up with key sponsors. Volunteers could distribute signs through the crowd, with reports as “remain a participant. Sign up here” and then QR -frame. QR -codes can also be used to help people register for voting.

The same approach can work out of movement. It is great that people start not to wear kings and anti-tramp T-shirts and buttons. They send a critical message that Trump can have power, but we also do, and the more of us who acts together, the more strength we have. The hats could help make Trump supporters move. Our own common characters can also strengthen us.

Buit while this gear is easy enough to find onlineIt does not offer people ways to participate. Adding QR -codes that direct people to online centers can do so. The same QR -codes can even be used by musicians who support them on stage to help attract their concert workers.

The organization of coalitions using QR -codes on marches and other activities should decide which groups to present: 200 organizations have not sponsored kings. But the organizers can give people a choice with links, so it should not be only one group. The fast -growing organizations also face the problems of new participants, including different programs of the day. We saw this in the movements of the War in Vietnam, Arab Spring and Brazilian Protests of 2013, which began to resist the bus but unintentional paid the Bolsonar’s road (as Vincent Bevins was chronicled in If we burn). But if we attract people to the number needed to return Trump’s regime on democracy and so much, we need to make new people engage and help others. QR -codes can become an important tool to help do this.
