Another Oreshnik missile, the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile, was test-fired from the Plesetsk launch pad in northwestern Russia in March 2024.

On November 21, a new Russian weapon hit the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, and 36 projectiles descended at high speed like meteors from the clouds. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this was the first test of a new ballistic missile called the Oreshnik, with more to follow.

Ukraine is looking for ways to neutralize the threat. While it has stopped other Russian attacks, including short-range ballistic missiles, this one will be more of a challenge. I like…
