A mother is in critical condition and her son is dead after they were both shot in an upscale Philadelphia neighborhood over the weekend, authorities said.
The mother and son were attacked in their Lower Merion Township home at 2:20 a.m. Sunday, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.
The suspect is at large and has not been identified, a district attorney’s official told ABC News.
Police are seeking information about a car and its driver they say fled from authorities in connection with the home invasion.
The victim’s green 2004 Jeep Cherokee, stolen in the home invasion, was recovered Sunday in West Philadelphia, a district attorney’s office official said.
It’s unclear if anything else was stolen from the home besides the Jeep, the official said.
Authorities said there is a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer.
