Zelensky published on X that the incident was subjected to Russia as a “state deprived of citizenship.”
“That’s how Russia earns a war – a judge, a Kursk region, a Russian territory, a boarding school with civilians who are preparing for evacuation,” he wrote.
“The Russian air bomb. They destroyed the building, although there were dozens of civilians.”
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army posted in the telegram that four people were killed and that 84 civilians were rescued, adding that “the strike was made specifically”.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Ukraine was attacked on Saturday, which it called a purposeful missile.
Ukraine launched lightning into the Russian region of Kursk last August, surprised by Russian border guards.
At the time, the government in Kiev made it clear that it did not intend to hold on to the territory, simply use it as negotiations in future peace talks.
Zelensky compared the strike on Saturday “How Russia waged a war against Chechnya decades ago. They killed the Syrians equally. Russian bombs destroy Ukrainian houses equally.”
