Kenya called for ceasefire and announced that the Presidents of the Congo and Rwanda would take part in an extraordinary regional summit in the next two days.
President of Kenya William Ruta, the current chairman of the Eastern African community, said regional leaders should promote a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
Meanwhile, the M23 rebels called on the Congolese troops to surrender to avoid bloodshed.
Since 2021, the group has taken the huge parts of the useful fossils of the eastern Congo. In the last few weeks, the group has quickly moved towards goths amid intense fighting.
According to the UN Refugee Affairs, more than 400,000 people have been moved to the North and Southern Kiva since the beginning of 2025, provinces near the border with Rwanda.

In a statement through his spokesman, Guteris called on Rwanda “Stop M23 support and leave DRC.” He also called on M23 “immediately stop all hostile actions and leave the occupied areas.”
It happened after 13 soldiers who served in peacekeeping were killed in clashes with the rebels.
