Rwanda views the Burundi army another threat to the East Dr. Congo.
A nation bordering Rwanda and Dr. Congo has had thousands of soldiers for many years. They went hunting the Burundian rebels, but now support the Kinshasa army in battles against M23.
Relations between Rwanda and Burundi are hostile. Both countries have a similar ethnic makeup, but unlike Rwanda, most of the house is in Burundi. Both countries accused each other of trying to overthrow relevant governments.
Burundi Evariste Nudeishimiye president posted a strong warning on social media.
“If Rwanda continues to make conquests,” he wrote, “I know that the war will even come to Burundi … One day he (Kaham) wants to come to Burundi – we are not going to accept it. The war will spread. “
The threat would increase if the M23 continues its progress from goh into the province of the South Kiva closer to the border of Burundi, where its forces are located.
“What is looking for Burundi here is the survival of the regime,” Mr. Sturns said.
“Burundi is worried that if Rwanda’s troops … expand their influence on the Southern Kiva, which can destabilize the Government in Buybumbur. What is the matter here, stops this uprising before it becomes too close to the house.”
Some are afraid of the repetition of the two wars that covered the region in the late 1990s, which attracted nine different countries and reportedly led to millions of deaths.
This time the immediate contractions between the two armies may extend the conflict of Dr. Congo.
