Blockbuster films performed relatively well in the nominations: “Dune: Part 2” and “Wicked” received seven marks each.
Gladiator II has three nominations, but none in the acting categories, with Paul Mezcal, Pedro Pascal and Washington missing out. Director Sir Ridley Scott was also left out.
Co-star Erivo and Ariana Grande received their first Bafta nominations, but Wicked missed out on Best Picture.
Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldaña and Carla Sofia Gascon also received their first Bafta nominations for Emilia Perez.
