Sudan civil war: Army advances as it seek to recapture Khartoum

The army was happily welcomed by many residents of the areas he recently restored because RSF was widely accused of killing and rape civilians in Khartoum, as well as robbery of many residents who escaped from the city.

The RSF’s promotion reports were rejected as “lies and rumors”. They made similar refusals before each retreat in recent weeks.

Analysts say the latest successes of the army were the result of the engagement of more soldiers and buying more weapons. Returning to the Army’s Church headquarters, he was also a huge good earlier this month.

The expulsion of the army of a paramilitary group from the Central city of Wad Madani in January was marred by charges of consolidated shootings and arbitrary retaliation attacks on those who are perceived that they are informants or RSF staff.

This undoubtedly causes fears among some residents of Khartum that the same fate awaits them.

“If you open social media and see all the killings when you committed something wrong, you should worry,” Mustafa said in the BBC.

“Some of them brought militants to people’s houses. Others joined (RSF) and stole property, terrorized people – even kept women against their will (Like sex -ra was. external). They did horrible things.

“Are they horrified by what ahead? Of course.”

But sometimes there is a thin border between what is considered as an employee and the reality of survival in the war.

“I worry about my cousin,” says Amir, who lives in the city of Khartum, which lies just across the Nile River.

“He is not an employee and an informant – he often has to deal with these people (RSF) because he looks after his mother and children. Will he be slaughtered (army), or he will remain alone?”

As long as the army and the future hands of Sudan are approaching, all the bridge and Amir can do is wait.
