Five takeaways from RFK Jr’s first confirmation hearing

As characteristic, the nature and tone of the questions were often different depending on which side of the political passage they went.

Democratic senators have largely frying it on their past anti-vaccine comments, promoting misinformation on health issues, and his knowledge of the US health care system, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Some Republicans, however, have focused their questions on the propaganda of Kennedy to eradicate chronic diseases in children and its criticism of the US food industry.

In particular, one Senator -Republican Ron Johnson from Wisconsin said Kennedy was a “answer to his prayer” and that he was “strange.”

Johnson himself is criticized for anti-vaccine misinformation during the Covid-19 pandemic.

As the procedure, the chairman of the senator and the financing committee Mike Krap gave Kennedy to his approval.

“I think you went well and deserve to be confirmed,” he said Kennedy.

Democratic senator Ron Wider, on the other hand, accused Kennedy of providing a “word salad” and a humiliation raised about his past anti-sunset remarks.

“I believe that your presentation will be unreliable and unprepared,” Wider said.

The hearing on Wednesday took place before the Senate Financial Committee. Kennedy threatens a second hearing on Thursday before the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, where he will face more issues from the senators.

The committees will then vote for its nomination before it will be able to transfer the entire Senate for consideration.
